more is more

These floral pieces were no brainers for me! I mean, hello color extravaganza! And the combo? They practically become a neutral! Lol. To be honest, I didn't have a top where the style and color were a good fit for the pants, and I still don't entirelyyyyy fit into my pre-baby jeans ... 3 months postpartum (I'll still take the stretchy pants please.) So a spontaneous flower uniform it is!  Plus, it's always a little invigorating just deciding something works and going with it. Overthinking is overrated.

Happy Wednesday!

xo,

Kristi

far out

Man I love styling.  It's like playing dress-up with real live dolls.  And in this case, it was like having my very own 1970s Barbie.  Named Betsy.  It was truly a blast from the past doing this styled shoot with photographer Patrick Lanham and hair/makeup artist Whitney Reynolds on the streets of St. Louis.

Also, the cool thing is, all of these looks are new, minus a few vintage pieces from my own supply.  So if you're feeling extra groovy, you don't need to hunt very hard.

Here's to everyone's inner hippie!  Enjoy! xo

Boom!

Ok I had way too much fun with these 3 dollar confetti popper thingamajiggys from Target.  But let me tell you, I am a confetti popper customer for life--these things are instant happy makers.  A pit stop to my handy dandy prop storage unit to drop these off, along with all the other randoms lying around my house, turned into a mini maternity photoshoot.  Maybe it's all the nesting and and errand-running and stacks of books to read, but these pregnant weeks are flying by!  I'm realizing that I need to capture this season before my bump turns into MILO!  So surreal. 25 weeks and counting...

Hello Bump

These days Baby Pinkham & I are soaking up every last ounce of non-maternity-clothes days we can get until the clothes stretch no more.  Until then, I have had to be extra savvy with squeezing myself into little get-ups like this one that make me happy. FYI only two safety pins were needed. Or TMI...

Regardless, having a bump is more magical and wonderful then I ever imagined.  And the extra challenge of dressing it is fun…for now *wink*

City Safari

Sometimes you see a wild blue wall and you must drop everything you're doing to hang out and take pictures in front of it.  Good thing my outfit of the day wasn't too shabby, and the crisp weather called for my outrageous vintage cheetah print coat I found at a, wait for it, thrift store.  I mean….  It looks so real that I feel nervous people will think I'm wearing a real cheetah on my back.  I assure you this is 100% vegan cheetah, people.  And even better, the super cool cream and gold vintage tag inside says "Safari Coat."  It's treasures like this that keep me braking for thrift shops and poppin' tags (whatever that even means).

p.s. Do you like the weed I picked for you?

workin' hard at the tire yard

I was recently given the bracelet of my dreams, a pink sprinkle donut bangle from Kate Spade, and have been basing every outfit around it since.

p.s. don't pink plastic flamingos just make everything better?

cabin fever

If I ever had cabin fever (which I feel like I do most days actually) and I was a fashion doctor, I'd prescribe myself this outfit.  There is something about sequins that makes you feel instantly glamorous and ready to conquer the world...minus the whole getting your hair caught in them every second and then having a frazzled rats' nest hairdo part.  But for the first few minutes or so, it's golden.  Thank God for hair rubber bands.  Oh, and sequins always go with paisley, dontchya think?

Note to self:  Look into how to become a fashion doctor.
